Message from the Ambassador

Welcome to the website of the Vietnamese Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We hope the information contained in this website will be useful for you, and that you will pass our web address on to your friends, colleagues and partners.

Diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Tanzania was established in 1965. After an interuption since 1984, the Embassy of Vietnam was reopened in December 2003. Apart from the United Republic of Tanzania, the Embassy also covers the the Republic of Kenya, the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of Uganda, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Mauritius and the Republic of Somalia.

As part of its mission, the Embassy designs this website to offer anyone interested in Vietnam with plenty information about the country and its relations with these East African partners. Pages cover a wide range of subjects, from Vietnamese history, culture and society to its economic development and foreign policy. Links to other useful websites can also be found.

Vietnamese Ambassador presents credentials to President of the Republic of Mauritius (07-01-2010)

President of the Republic of Mauritius H.E.Mr. Anerood Jugnauth spoke highly on the appointment of H.E.Mr. Nguyen Duy Thien as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Mauritius with residence in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) at the ceremony of credentials presentation on 12/21/2009 in Port Louis, capital of Mauritius.
