Ambassador presented books and documents to Tanzanian National Central Library |

On May 8th, 2009, Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Tanzania Nguyen Duy Thien paid a visit and presented books and documents to Tanzania National Central Library.

In the talks with Director Board of Tanzania National Central Library, Ambassador Thien revealed about Vietnam’s revolutionary struggle for national independence. In the justice fight for national independence, Vietnam gained valuable supports from friends all over the world, including Tanzanian people. Vietnam government and people always appreciate highly those complements and contributions and wish tighter cooperation in the new context. Ambassador Thien presented the Library some English books such as Ho Chi Minh’s thought of military (Institute of Military History, Ministry of National Defense); In memory of Uncle Ho (senior lieutenant-general Phung The Tai); People’s war, people’s army (General Vo Nguyen Giap); Liberation of the South (General Hoang Van Thai); Vietnam: from the past to the future (Mai Ly Quang), and magazines in English and Vietnamese as well. In return, the representative of the Library received these documents in good manner and expressed deep thanks to Vietnam embassy for those supports and promised to spread these documents to Tanzanian readers immediately. In the mean time, he expected to establish cooperation with Vietnam National Library. He also made an introduction about the structure, scale and operation of the library. Many Vietnam’s English-magazines which were presented previously have been utilized daily here in reading-room of the Library. The Library is 45 years old now and has a network of 32 branches throughout the country, including a library operation college with the total of students over 200 in Dar es Salaam./. |
