Construction of two orphanage houses funded by Vietnam Government completes
On the occasion of 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the United Republic of Tanzania, in the cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Tanzania, on 26th February, H.E.Mr. Nguyen Duy Thien, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the S.R. of Vietnam paid a visit to Kibaha Children Village Center partially financed by the Vietnam government. The fund of US$ 100,000 (one hundred thousand US$) was handed over to Mama Anna Mkapa, spouse of former Tanzania President Mkapa (Mama A.Mkapa now is chairperson of charity organization namely Equal Opportunities for all Trust Fund - EOTF).
On the occasion of 45th anniversary of establishment of the Vietnam-Tanzania diplomatic relations (14/2/1965 – 14/2/2010)
Located in Pwani district next to Dar es Salaam, the goal of project “Kibaha Children Village” constructed and managed by EOTF is to receive and bring up orphans. The project is licensed to be built on an area of 80 acres in Simbani Kibaha (Pwani). As scheduled, the project includes 8 residential houses for children, manager house, kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and auxiliary works. Up to now, three residential houses have been completed (including 2 houses funded by Vietnam).Each Vietnam-funded house is 250 m2 in area (1 storey, good-looking, tile proof, enameled floor and painted walls), divided into many rooms for children and baby-sitters and other functional rooms. One house has been equipped with beds, wardrobes and other furniture to receive 16 children and 2 baby-sitters as designed.
The meeting was arranged with the attendance of representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mama A.Mkapa and management board of EOTF, local government representatives, staffs in Children Village and reporters of mass media, etc. EOTF and relevant agencies gave speeches, expressing sincere thanks to the government and the people of Vietnam, making known that the first receipt of children will be carried out at the two houses funded by Vietnam. That is specific activity celebrating 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Tanzania diplomatic ties.
In the talks with Tanzania friends, Ambassador Nguyen Duy Thien said: “Experiencing long lasting and fierce period of war, our Vietnam also has had many orphans and lone children, therefore, the Vietnamese people sympathize and readily share with Tanzania friends in this matter though many difficulties in their country.” While emphasizing the cooperation and mutual assistance between the two countries over decades serve as valuable treasure which continue to be respected, maintained and further advanced, he also expressed his belief that the 45th anniversary will be a turning point, marking the strong development of friendship and cooperative ties between Vietnam and Tanzania./.
