ASEAN FAMILY DAY in Tanzania

On October 9, 2011 the first ASEAN Family Day was organized at the Indonesian Residence by the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in coordination with Indonesian Embassy and communities of other ASEAN countries.

The Ambassador of Viet Nam Nguyen Duy Thien, Ambassador of Indonesia Yudistiranto, Ambassador of the Philippines to Kenya and Tanzania Domingo and more than 150 people from Vietnamese, Indonesian, Filipino, Thai and Malaysian oversea-community in Tanzania attended the event.

After the opening ceremony of ASEAN flag-hoisting, it was followed by sports and games such as table tennis, volleyball, dart, …The Vietnamese men’s single table tennis team won first prize.

The Embassy of Viet Nam introduced its traditional special cuisine of Nem rán (spring rolls), Chả cá (milled fish fried with dill), Bún bò Huế (special noodle of Hue), Thịt gà xé phay (sweet and sour salad of chicken and vegetable), Dưa góp (sweet and sour salad of papaya). Vietnamese traditional foods was enjoyed and praised by the  attendants.

The song “Như có Bác Hồ trong ngày vui đại thắng” was then sung at the ASEAN culture performance./.
